PolyChem AcraStrip 600 B & G Mod Automotive is a water-soluble, aqueous, non-hazardous environmentally friendly cleaner that was designed to replace acetone, toluene, MEK, hexanone, mineral spirits, Methylene Chloride, Xylene, MIBK, Ketones and other petroleum-based products in automotive applications. AcraStrip 600 was developed in partnership with the U.S. EPA DFE program and is used in the automotive industry and aftermarket application, as well as the coatings/adhesives manufacturing and aerospace industries.
In a formula using non-hazardous technology, AcraStrip 600 is a neutral, biodegradable and water reducible composition designed for flushing paint lines of coatings such as urethanes, acrylics, epoxies, waterbornes, and high solids bake enamels. It easily cleans electrostatic bells, paint guns, plural component metering systems as well as pressure pots and pumps during multiple color changes in production environments.
OTHER APPLICATIONS
Paint Prep Use the ACRASTRIP at a 10-15 % solution and wipe any surface prior to coating with a lint free cloth. The ACRASTRIP does not need to be rinsed in most applications and the new coating can be applied right over the ACRASTRIP. Once painted and dried the ACRASTRIP will not a ect the bond and, in a lot of cases, promotes a better bond.
Tote Cleaning Use the ACRASTRIP as is or at a 50% solution. Heating the ACRASTRIP up to 160° F will accelerate most applications. A spraying system at between 200–1000 psi can be used or a ll, recirculate and lter system can be used to assist. Applications include mixing tanks, reactor tanks and returnable totes.
Line Maintenance Completely strips out paint circulation lines when a new paint is to be introduced. Helps eliminate the need for line and tting replacement while removing all dried and semi-cured in-line paint lms. Use at 25-100% concentrations at ambient to 150°F temperatures at no less than 50PSI with ltration just before the return on the circulation line. A complete air blow-down is recommended at the end of the process.
Paint Stripping When the paint is actually dried on/cured, it usually requires full immersion of that part in the ACRASTRIP. The solution can be used straight or 1-1 with water. Fast acting stripping will take place when you heat the solution to 100-160°F.
Gun Cleaning ACRASTRIP works very well in gun washing systems as well as manual cup gun cleaning applications. Applications include ushing chops guns, gravity feed guns, soaking of gun tips
