KDA1 / KHR1 Series is an advanced two-component, high gloss pigmented aromatic polyurethane topcoat. These products produce an "off-the-gun" 100 sheen in a full range of colors. They can be lightly buffed / polished; however, please note that excessive buffing / polishing can potentially change the color. For a full buff / polish system, it is always recommended to use a clear high gloss topcoat.

HIGH GLOSS APPLICATION NOTES:

Below are three reduction blends that have proved to work very well to prevent solvent pop and excellent leveling.


  1. LZC70 @ 30% + 5% LTC40
  2. LZC70 @ 30% + 2% LTC96
  3. LZC2A12 @ 30-40%


For best results, apply 2-3 coats at 3-4 wet mils, wet-on-tack application roughly 1 hour apart. Hand sand between coats with 600 grit. This method reduces orange peel and allows for much easier buffing / polishing. It is important to remove all sanding dust between coats to avoid fisheyes.
