XHC20 Hardwood Impregnator

XHC20 Impregnator is a clear impregnating base that is designed for hardwoods. It can also be tinted to specific colors. Impregnators are a crucial component to the longevity of an exterior system. They are recommended for both clear systems as well as pigmented systems. Impregnators are not necessary over synthetic substrates.

Its purpose is to prevent mold, mildew, fungus and provide insect resistance to the wood’s surface. These are common causes of deterioration of the wood fibers which can lead to early finish failure. They provide UV stability as well as resistance to mold growth. Remember that the darker the stain color the better UV resistance. This impregnating base requires an exterior topcoat for full protection.
